Welcome to Critical Thinking in Action

At CoEfficient, we don’t work with just anyone—we work with you, because you’re exceptional at what you do. Your insights, expertise, and deep understanding of businesses are what make this partnership so powerful.

We bring the data, frameworks, and tools; you bring the perspective, intuition, and experience. Together, we have the ability to transform numbers into meaningful actions that truly drive change.

This guide is here to enhance that collaboration, offering a framework to interpret survey results, draw meaningful conclusions, and help businesses create lasting improvement.

What This Framework Is (And Why It Matters)

Critical thinking is the key to unlocking the full value of the CoEfficient survey data. This framework—Analysis → Evaluation → Inference → Reasoning → Reflection—helps you interpret the numbers, understand the story behind them, and guide businesses to take effective action.

Here’s how to use it:

Step 1: Analysis

What it is: Examining the data, facts, and information from the CoEfficient survey.

✔ How to do it:

  • Start with the numbers: What are the key scores and trends?

  • Look for contrasts: Which categories are strong? Which are underperforming?

  • Focus on employee feedback: What patterns or recurring themes emerge?

Key Question: What does the data say?

✔ Partner Tip: Use the raw survey data as your foundation, but don’t get lost in the details. Highlight the three most significant areas for focus.

Step 2: Evaluation

What it is: Judging the quality and reliability of the data to ensure it’s credible and actionable.

✔ How to do it:

  • Assess the response rate: Does the sample size represent the whole organization?

  • Check for consistency: Are there any outliers that need deeper exploration?

  • Factor in context: How might industry trends, company culture, or external challenges affect these results?

Key Question: Is this data reliable, and what external factors might influence it?

✔ Partner Tip: During this step, reach out to leadership or team managers for additional context that can help clarify anomalies or surprising trends.

Step 3: Inference

What it is: Drawing conclusions and identifying patterns from the data.

✔ How to do it:

  • Fill in gaps: Are there areas where more context or exploration is needed?

  • Spot cause-and-effect: Do certain low scores link to specific business outcomes (e.g., high turnover)?

  • Prioritize: Focus on the biggest opportunities for improvement—don’t try to fix everything at once.

Key Question: What does this data mean, and what are the key takeaways?

✔ Partner Tip: Use heatmaps or visual aids to highlight patterns, making it easier to communicate findings to your clients.

Step 4: Reasoning

What it is: Connecting the insights to actionable business strategies.

✔ How to do it:

  • Define the “why”: What’s driving these scores, and why does it matter?

  • Propose solutions: What specific actions can address these findings?

  • Link to outcomes: How will improving these areas impact employee engagement, productivity, and the bottom line?

Key Question: How can we turn these insights into clear, practical actions?

✔ Partner Tip: Customize your recommendations. For example, a low score in Psychological Safety might call for leadership training, while weak Team Working could benefit from clearer role definitions or collaboration tools.

Step 5: Reflection

What it is: Thinking critically about the process, outcomes, and next steps.

✔ How to do it:

  • Reassess: Were the right priorities identified?

  • Adjust: What worked well, and what could be improved in future analysis?

  • Follow up: Are the implemented changes making a measurable difference?

Key Question: How do we refine our approach for even better results?

✔ Partner Tip: Schedule a follow-up session with clients to review progress and discuss lessons learned—it builds trust and demonstrates long-term commitment.
